rowdfunding is taking over the world! It is a special case of crowdsourcing.

It is to apply financial resources from a huge number of people for product sales and services sales, help to the needy, poor and distressed people, running events, private individual and legal persons support.

They say the term crowdfunding to appear along with crowdsourcing back in the year 2006. Jeff Howe is its author.
The phenomenon of crowd financing itself is considered to appear long before. One has only to think about Statue of Liberty building in New York finances for which were gathered together popularly.

Everyone who runs business spends lots of time trying to convince a potential or real client to buy a product or a service. So no other product or a service was chosen. You may create a website, thoughtful and convincing but it may happen that you will have to do sales live. While you are scared of live performances to death.

No one said it would be easy to perform live in order to make sales. There are not that many of confident and sassy people. There is no need to worry though. The following 7 pieces of advice will make it to where your speech will be confident, clear and interesting. By means of these tips, you will turn any conversation with a customer into a presentation, and a presentation into a deal. Are you curious? Let`s get started!

Work on what you are about to say

There is no such a presentation anyone would find likable. Some might like your performance while some might get disappointed, which is why you should think it over before say something, then choose right words and phrases. Pay attention to the following:

  • Your relations with an audience. If they are formal alone, avoid friendly tone of speech and do not tap your interlocutor on the shoulder.
  • Level of your audience knowledge. If people you talk to look into a matter not as good as you do, try not to go into technical details much.
  • Your audience needs. Knowing what your customer is in need of, you will be able to emphasize interesting characteristics for your customer and advantages of a product.

Do not forget about it while working over a shape and content of your performance. Do not ever chatter at the drop of a hat. Notice your audience reaction and see whether you need to slow down while speaking or to hurry up and talk on the next part of your speech.

Talk to a person, not to his wallet

In order to find interested customers and turn them into regular ones, apply for sense experience. Here are a few simple examples: handmade sweaters are about warmth and comfort, investments are about financial welfare and calmness and chocolate is about satisfaction. If your brand will be associated with pleasant feelings or a clear idea, it helps you to reach out a client`s heart.

Do not use jargon

Things happen and you focus on the topic too much using unclear notions and slang words. You have to remember that in most cases you deal with not an expert or a co-worker but a person who is far away from what you know, which is why here is an advice to leave professional words behind and speak simply so you were understood.

To be certain that your speech does not cause any questions, practice on your friends and relatives and look at their reaction. If they look at your puzzled, you should work some more at what you have to say, in case they reach after their wallet, you are on the right path.

Play on heartstrings

A performance is considered to be good if people start telling about it to their friends. It means that your audience got it right. Do you want to be able to do so? There are two proven ways:

  • Storytelling. Everyone likes interesting stories. Realizing that there is going to be an interesting story, we all get ready to listen to it. How to use it? Try to use less bare figures and facts and more real-world examples and funny jokes. Audience will not get bored and will listen to you carefully.
  • Authentification. While performing, do not be shy to apply to your audience directly. Doing so, you involve it into a discussion making it not about your product only but also about your audience. Use “you”, “imagine”, “in your case” and so on. Point is that discussion is going to be about a customer and his needs.
Monitor time

Success of your presentation depends on how much time it takes. Keep in mind that your speech should be either not too long or not too short. Usually, the duration of a speech depends on its format. For example, a presentation for an elevator should take a few minutes. It is allowed to talk during an hour at conference, sometimes even longer. Advice: to take into consideration several versions of your performance: full, short and very short.

Make notes of your speech

Even if you are very good at talking, it is highly recommended to write it down on paper. While writing, you might come up with some more arguments, which won`t come into your head without rhyme or reason. As a result, your speech will be more logical, convincing and long-sweep.

Do not read from paper though! Writing down your speech, you should memorize it. You may look into your notes but only to restore in your memory a number or date. It is important here not to turn into an answering machine repeating studied information. Your speech should be vivid and live. Do not be afraid to improvise, wander from the point and answer questions.

Train yourself

Here we go, your speech is ready! Now what you need to do is to keep saying it aloud preferably standing in front of the mirror. It might sound silly but it is quite effectively. Try to practice every day, imagine you to talk to a real client. With time, your speech will sound better and better, you will stop stumble, forget words, find your pace and feel yourself confident and hard-to-pin-down.

It seems like time to act has come. Use a slightest chance for a talk even though it might seem as if people are not interested in what you have to say. There are two reasons to do so. First of all, to practice on regular customers and fix your current mistakes. Secondly, you never know what your next conversation may lead to. Maybe this very person might get interested and feel like getting to know all the details. Besides, every new acquaintance enlarge a network of acquaintance and acquaintances and contacts, as you know, as often as not, play a crucial role.
